Easy mistake

Today, I parked my car on the street late at night, when I was distracted by a text message. Some guy then gets in my passenger side. Panicked, thinking I was being robbed, I bolt out of my car bruising my head and dropping my phone onto the pavement. The guy meant to get in the car behind me. FML

Oh man, that sucks. I'd probably do the same thing though. When some random guy gets into your car, what else would you do? Of course you'd panic. Don't worry, you're not the only one that would panic.

I would probably do the same thing or end up calling 911 on the guy and then getting fined for calling in a non-emergency haha.

So if someone gets into your car without a word you would run away? And yea, why leave your door unlocked? I have lived in big cities before and though something like this has never happened to me personally you still should have common sense enough to lock your passenger door, keep your windows rolled up and have a baseball bat stored somewhere handy just in case (ok, don't necessarily need the bat, but it helps). Especially if your parking your car late at night.

My mom did that before. Except she was the guy. And she didn't get in. She opened the door and started to get in. My dad and I made fun of her the whole way home :D

Yes, jimboom, if I were in my car and a COMPLETE ******* STRANGER got in in the middle of the night, yeah. I would run. What would you do, sit there waiting to see what they'd do? Pro tip: Most people who get into other people's cars without permission in the middle of the night are up to no good. Also, a baseball bat is useless in a car. There's not enough room to swing it. Do you think at all before you say things?

Look on the bright side - at least you didn't smash his face in and then get charged with assault. And yeah, whoever suggested a baseball bat in a car is really dumb.

LOL Wow that sucks but did the guy just sit there or was he acting as though he could be a robber? Since u said that he wanted the car behind u wouldn't he just say "srry wrong car" and get out? Look before u run out of a car and drop ur phone next time! Hope ur phone is ok?

That's really ****** up, but you should also keep your door locked.

Understandable reaction, but if it's late at night (no matter how safe the area), pay attention to your surroundings! Wait until you're inside to text.

at least you didn't whip out a gun and shoot him. I know some people who definitely would do that.

I don't blame you for reacting like that! I'd be scared shitless!
