Today, I decided to lighten my hair. I applied the dye and waited 20 minutes. When I went to wash the dye out, the water wouldn't turn on. After my head started to burn, I called the landlord in a panic. Turns out there was a water main break and the entire city block doesn't have water. FML

Same thing different taste

Today, I came home from a crazy costume party and took a hot shower. When I opened my eyes and saw the water running from my head was bloody, I freaked out and called my friend for help. She had to remind me that for the party, I'd coloured my hair red with washable hair dye. FML

Today, I was taking a shower for the first time in my new apartment. The shower head broke off the wall and slammed onto my head, while spraying water everywhere. I tried to stop the water, but only stopped the cold and got burnt by the hot. FML

Today, I woke up to a fog. Literally. A pipe burst in my apartment and scalding water was everywhere. To make matters worse, when I called maintenance he told me he'd come by later, hung up on me, and turned his phone off. He did eventually show up, but it was 5 hours later, well after I'd paid a plumber $200. FML

Today, I woke up to a flooded apartment. Apparently, the upstairs neighbor's bathtub had overflowed and water was pouring through my ceiling. My landlord said he couldn't do anything until the water stopped, so I spent the morning frantically trying to mop up the water while feeling completely helpless. FML

Today, I tried dyeing my hair at home to save some money. I carefully followed the instructions but when I rinsed it off, my hair turned a shocking shade of shiity neon green. Not wanting to leave the house looking like a radioactive toad, I wore a hat and hoped nobody would notice. FML

Today, my apartment building shut off our water for a short period of time because the pipes were being worked on. It was also the morning my dog had diarrhea on my cream carpet. Not only did I have to clean it up without water, I couldn't wash my hands afterward. FML

Today, I was washing my hair in the shower when the water went ice cold. It's 20 degrees outside and we have soft water which takes a longer time to wash away soap. FML

Today, I was running water for a relaxing bath. There have been some problems with the town's water for a while now, so I was pleased when the water looked so clear. Right as I thought that, however, the water instantly changed from crystal clear to shit brown. FML

Holy crap...I probably woulda poured bottled water over my head or gatorade or whatever I had in the house...lol...I hope your hair is not too damaged and the color doesn't look bad...and if it does I hope it can be fixed at a salon...wow this seriously blows...it would only be half as bad if you had been coloring it darker...but bleach...damn...

OMG I have so had that happen... i had to leave it on for 60 minutes past the dye time because i had to drive to a friends house... i was using peroxide bleach

3 years late lol.. Your hair is actually supposed to be dry for the hair dye to grab on. Doesn't make sense if it's wet.

i also call bs on this. i like the story but you don't know a whole lot about water outages....you have (or your building has) a water heater...for a single house/apartment its about 70 gallons...no water line (watermain break)..no power...no gas...you still get cold water out of it...if you're lucky its still warm. sorry...cant fool me with that one. also if this actually happened...everyone says use the toilet...the toilet tank does not get pee and poo in it...much wiser source of water.
