Today, I went to a date with a girl I thought liked me. We sat down at a restaurant, ordered some food and started talking. After 30 minutes, she said with a sigh of relief, "THANK GOD! There's my dad. Now I can leave. Bye, thanks for the dinner." The food hadn't even arrived yet. FML

People wondering 30 minutes for food, I have waited more than that for a really good dinner. Or sometimes if the restaurant is full, it takes them a while. While she could've used more tact in getting away, was there a good reason for her to get away? Are you that boring o.o;? but still this isn't a FML unless she said it loud enough for everyone around you to hear, then that would've been a fml.

... Guys, I'm guessing that either her dad wasn't actually there and she was just using an excuse to get away. Or that she'd already decided to not stay longer than 30 minutes because why else would the dad be there so early?

If she told her father to pick her up from the date in under an hour, she was only going out with you to be nice. And you apparently said or did something within those thirty minutes to prove that you can't merely be tolerated, either. I don't know if she was worth getting your hopes up in the first place, but you're not doing yourself any favors bitching to an internet forum. YDI regardless.
