Today, my baby-crazy mother expressed her concerns that I haven't conceived after a whole two months of marriage. Her advice amounted to "get divorced while you're still hot, sleep around until you get pregnant, then marry the winner." When I complained to my father, he supported her. FML

Okay FYL but you're an adult right? You and husband make the decision of whether or not you both want a child NOT your parents! Your mom sounds like the high school **** that got pregnant by your dad who's the "winner" apparently.

Of course, your dad supports your mom, he has to live with her. I am sure he loves you very much but you're out of the house already and no longer his problem. OP, you should be leaning to your husband for support.

That's true, but consolation from a significant other can certainly help a great deal. If she's attempting to make her own decisions, but for example, something has her stuck and she's torn between two options, by all means she should ask the husband for his opinion. That doesn't mean she should take his advice; again, it's her choice. Relationships are all about support, love and trust for one another while still maintaining a sense of self.
