As someone with Asperger's (and OP, please don't use 'Assburgers' PLEASE, we're still PEOPLE and there's no need to be rude to us just because our neurotype is different to yours). I can tell you that Asperger's does NOT cause those symptoms. A difficulty in understanding social interaction and stress in dealing with social situations due to a lack of natural intuition in that area, yes, and a lack of tact that arises from simply not GETTING straight off that something is rude unless someone (nicely) lets us know, definitely. But having Asperger's does NOT make you a bully or an asshole any more than the next person. Please check your ableism (and if you're referring to anyone as an 'Assburger' then yes, yes you ARE being ableist) and stop.
That's how I interpreted it too.
I'm pretty sure that OP isn't that much of a dick and that OP's boss is the one calling it Assburgers.
"ableism" I'm ******* dead laughing here, and I have Asperger's too. Though with every interaction with other autistic people and other people who specifically have Asperger's, I'm beginning to realise how light I am on the spectrum compared to others. ******* "ableism" and "ableist" though. Those are ones for the books. You're so vain.
Either they spelled it that way on purpose, or OP doesn't know what aspergers is.
Dude. There's a definite difference between having Asperger's and having Asperger's while being an asshole at the same time.
its a form of autism and my son has it! if he behaved in that manner I would help you get him arrested or some mental help!
There has to be something you can do
As a person who has Asperger's, I think OP's coworker should be held responsible for his own behavior and actions regardless of his disability. I might sound a little harsh but the reality is that this coworker chose to work in a mainstream work environment and the expectations of the environment are to treat others with respect and clearly he can't handle that. So yes, I think the coworker ought to be fired.
The only person actually making sense...
It's called Asperger's, and it's a form of autism. It's a fairly common thing. I would know, I have it.
It's called "Aspergers" dickwad, and it's a real disease. I would know, I have it. No, it's not an excuse for your coworker to be an ass, but don't make fun of the goddamn illness.

Assburgers don't sound very appetizing. I wouldn't fire one up either.
If that's a case he should have the guy medically evaluated. Or at least talk to the guy and try and make it so you don't sue him for a hostile work environment.
