Today, apparently when you tell a hairdresser, "A little off the sides," they hear, "A bowl cut please, and make it look extra stupid." FML

Always bring a picture of the result you want. That way you can show them what you want. If the screw it up, you can have a chat with their manager on how well they cut hair.

If they refuse to listen to you when you specify your haircut, I suggest going somewhere else to get it done next time.

and this is why I'm learning to become a hairdresser so that I can hopefully do peoples' hair exactly as they want as I know the annoyance of crap hairdressers then again says you're male and barbering is a seperate course for 2 years one lesson a week for £1k... oh wells

Is your school even real? Where doesn't teach men's cutting? I understand advanced courses and the barbering trade itself require additional education... but men's cutting was one of the first basics we learned back when I was in beauty school.
