Hang in there

Today, it's the third anniversary of when I started looking for a new job. I'm still working at the job that made me want to get a new one and I haven't even had an interview for another one in almost two years. My Master's degree on the wall is looking more and more like a roll of toilet paper. FML

Wow, be grateful you have a job? I'm sorry but what a crock of s**t that is. People shouldn't consider themselves lucky, most of us work hard in there jobs & thereby aren't in need of luck to keep it or even have it. Also people who immediately believe that a degree helps find better jobs are, to be quite frank, fools. I know that my company have a school leavers policy so that we can train people in the skills they need to actually do the job, we have one twat with a degree in economics & he still belives he is better than the others at his job. Yet his accounts are all doing quite badly & he has the personality of a turd.

It depends on the type of job you are applying for. Some types of jobs do require you to have an associates or even a bachelors degree. In fact, I've recently started looking for my first "real" job. You wouldn't believe how many positions I can't even apply for because I don't have a masters degree yet. If the OP is in a field like that, I can completely understand why NOT finding a job with a masters gets a "WTF?" reaction. Not to mention, most people I know who are planning to go for their masters are doing so not because they are pretentious but because somebody or several somebodies (*coughcareerplanningcentercough*) have convinced them that it is necessary to get a better job. That is the message which many professors and other staff here send to students, and frankly, many of the students don't know any better. I would guess OP may have been in a similar situation. FHL.

In this economy...be happy you have a job...I graduated little over a year ago and I'm STILL looking for a teaching job

all you people who just commented are a bunch of *****

Right now I think you should be happy you even have a job.. or do you just not realize how bad the economy is right now?

listen just because you took a piece of toilet paper and wrote masters degree does NOT mean you have masters

At least you have a job. Im a 25 year old, four time war vet with a masters and no one will hire me because ive been to Iraq and there scared my PTSD might kick in. So I sit at home and try to live of 500 dollars a month. When you go to serve your country and have it turn your back on you for doing you job, than talk to me. Until then, be happy you have a job unlike the God forsaken people on this planet that dont.

Recessions are boring! That's a fact. Shut up, do your time & be grateful you have a job. This is not an FML. It's just whining over nothing. It's not even funny.

oh boohooo!! there are so many people in the same or worse position as u.. I have a double major and a masters and I'm selling cemetery plots..
