By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2016 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, in an attempt to be more healthy, I made myself a large fruit smoothie. I didn't think it could or would cause me to practically shart my rectum out my ass for the rest of the afternoon. The more you know. FML

So, when was the last time you've had any sort of fruit or vegetable? The only time I could imagine that happening is if you don't touch them at all. In which case, embrace the *****, because you obviously need some good fiber in your life.

Should have skipped the banana leaves ... Didn't you see Jumanji?

I have a smoothie every day and that does not happen to me ? What the heck was in your smoothie

Probably first time having such a high amount of fruit before after such a long time of not having that many. I've seen a few people have some bad reactions to suddenly going from few fruit to a huge amount of them.

or maybe they used yogurt/milk and didnt know they were lactose intolerant

Did you put a sandpaper ***** in there with some salt. Damn dude, just get frozen fruit slices and spinach with milk/water. You'll be set to go.

Some fruits you got there. What did you put in it?

If your smoothie is that unhealthy then you're making it wrong.

I don't know why you get all this hate, #7. Fruit does have a lot of sugar. And fruit smoothies aren't that healthy in that you need to use multiple pieces of fruit to have enough juice, so you take in too much sugar. Vegetable smoothies are very healthy, though. Practically no sugar and lots of fibers!

Correct, #20, thanks for your support.

The difference is that the sugar in fruit is NATURAL sugar, and far healthier than the sugar you would get in pop.

#23, You're wrong, sugar is always sugar. No sugar is healthy. No matter where it's from.

#23, I wonder where do you think the sugar that is in soft drinks come from? From some evil chemistry lab? And the sugar in fruits is supposed to be some devine healthy product? Gosh.

Sugar in pop comes from sugarcane or sugar beets. An unhealthy amount is then added. However, your body does indeed need sugar, so drinking fruit smoothies is still healthy as the sugar occurs in more "natural" amounts.

I swear my iq points dropped reading your comments

#7 did not imply fruit is unhealthy (nor did I), they said it is better to eat fruits separately instead of in a smoothie. It contains sugar and not one kind of sugar is healthy when taken in large quantities. Seperate fruit is healthier because of the fiber in the peel, because it is less easy to digest (you need more energy to chew than to swallow) and because you eat smaller quantities when you eat them whole. I google-searched this and the first 10 results all said this. What is wrong with you people?

There is such thing as healthy sugar....

I can't believe how dumb you are oh my.

#7 is entirely correct. Even if it is natural sugar, you are blending up all the fiber and making it pretty much useless. That means you get rapid absorption of sugar into your blood which makes your insulin spike and causes a sugar rush and why OP got the *****. The energized feeling you get after a smoothie isn't because it's healthy, you are getting a sugar rush.

Any chance you're allergic to something you put in there?

Despite some of the snide comments; the occasional large smoothie can intact be good for you, though it is also a good idea to add vegetables. One of the benefits is actually the subject of the FML- OP's lower digestive tract is probably the cleanest it has been in years!
