The fact that marijuana is easily detectable in your system also seems to bias opinions on people who smoke. If any available jobs and entry level jobs for teenagers drug test right off the bat then the people who smoke regularly are obviously not going to be working. Also why do you have a model skull?

OP's parents aren't necessarily closed-minded. They're clearly trying to look out for him. I doubt most parents let their kids smoke pot.

My brother in law is lazy, 23 years old with no job, no education and a huge pot head. His mom blames it on "the pot". She doesn't get that he's just a lazy guy with no goals or motivation in life. With or without it, he's still a lazy bum. Why does weed always have to have a bad rap, it's all in the person and how they choose to use it and live their lives.

Although sometimes its the person, it can definitely also be the weed for other cases. As with any drug (and i use drug in the technical sense of the word, thus including many things people describe as being "different" like medications or caffeine), every person has a unique biochemistry and will respond in a unique manner. When I was a chemistry major in undergrad, I used weed everyday, especially on exam days, as it helped with the abstract thinking required to approach problems from multiple perspectives and was the top of my class in organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry. Meanwhile, I had a classmate who, wanting to mimic the behaviors of the best kid in the class/ wanting to smoke weed, found that he could not focus to do a single problem on his homework set after smoking. Everyone's response to weed is unique to them, and its ignorant to say otherwise.

What about the people that do harder drugs like meth and heroin? It might be there choice but I don't wanna run into those people when there on that shit. You don't know what they could do.

And people who do smoke pot have no right to scold people who think it's wrong.

Sometimes you end up choosing the lives of your loved ones and family too when you make a choice like that. And sometimes you end up choosing the lives of the passers-by. Like choosing when their lives would end.
