HOAs suck

By Slivered - 18/11/2009 09:50 - Canada

Today, my condo board refused to lift the new policy, which requires pet owners to carry their dogs in common areas after someone's dog kept peeing in the hall. I can't physically carry my two dogs, so I'm now forced to wheel them through the building in a borrowed baby stroller. FML

You ought to start peeing in the hall, just to show 'em.

My neighbor has an elderly dog that goes on walks but can't walk very far. She will walk her younger dog and old dog at the same time. When the old one gets tired he will climb into the blanket lined radio flyer wagon she brought along and pull him the rest of the way.

The OP could have back problems, arthritis or some medical reason she can't carry her dogs. Or the dogs could be the extremely wiggling and squirming types when you try to hold them. My brothers boxer pup is like this. My australian cattle dog as a young dog was so hyper, holding him was not worth the hassle.

This. What is so hard to believe that OP may just be physically not capable of lifting a dog?

If they're big enough that you can't carry them, why do you have them living in a condo? Why wouldn't you try to find a nice townhome with a small backyard or something?

Actually, some big dogs make great apartment dogs. The great dane is huge but since their metabolism is so slow they are very chill and only require an hour or so of exercise a day. It is often discouraged to over exercise them as puppies because of their fast growing bones.

our great danes get 2 and a half hour of exercise a day. ok, except for the puppy, she only walks an half hour a day. we've never had any problems with their bones. but, what I really wanted to say is that a great dane as an apartment dog is maybe not the best option. they can be very *uhm.. don't know if this is the right word, but the online dictionary gave me to many options* plump. If the OP has a great dane, I can understand her problem because our puppy, who is 4 months old, weights 30 kilo! (sorry for my english, it's soooo poor, I know..)

bet the dogs like being carried around like that.

YDI for living in a condo. Instead of spending that much money on a glorified apartment, then biatching about it, why didn't you just purchase a house for about the same amount of money?

You've obviously never been to Toronto. Buying a house here is prohibitively expensive. A condo is the only option for most first-time buyers.

I always knew there was a flaw in people who hate dogs, now you can see why...

You know not everyone can afford a house. Everyone's life and circumstances are different and just because YOU can afford to live in a house with a yard and all those wonderful things, doesn't mean this person can and that's not a reason to say YDI. It's really sad when you live in condos or apartments and people just do whatever they feel like and you have to suffer because of one or two ignorant people who think for whatever reason they don't have to follow the rules that every person agrees to upon signing a lease. Believe me, it's an FML when you have to pay for other peoples stupidity, ignorance and general disregard for basic rules.

There's nothing wrong with the grammar of this fml.

Get a stroller for twins and dress up the dogs in baby clothes. for the hell of it, put diapers on the dogs.
