Hog on hog action

Today, I pulled someone over for speeding. He was only 10 over the speed limit so I gave him an $84 fine. It turns out he is a workplace Occupational Health and Safety officer and because I wasn't wearing my high visibilty vest while standing on the side of the road he gave me a $250 fine. FML

Yeah, God forbid he actually did his job. It's scum like you who think it's okay to break the law if it's "only a little."

Yeah I know. Totally. F*ck him for pulling someone over that was going over the speed limit. I hate when cops pull people over for breaking the law. What a c*ckhole of a policeman.

while you're giving him a ticket for going 10 over.. people who are going 20+ over are driving by laughing. When i drive somewhere i'm always going about 10 over and so is the majority of everyone else on the road, and there are also plenty of other ppl who deem it necessary to drive 15-20+. ydi dbag

These stupid freaking speed limits need to go away, as do OHaS officers. As do Police. I don't believe that Police even help much. Here in the US when you NEED a cop they are hours away eating donuts. When you DON'T need them, they're there to give you a $400 ticket for something the guy in front of you did (Yes that did happen to me, yes I went to court, yes I was able to prove it with video footage, yes I got the cop suspended because he violated protocol and actually did some stuff that is completely unprofessional). I have NO love for most cops.

everyone hates the cops til they actually need one.

I hit YDI and I'm no cop hater. In fact when I was lil I used to love cops just cuz they're cops, my family is in law enforcement, but as I said I was lil (and a bit naive). I've seen one too many instances in which cops showed their true colors, which caused me to absolutely hate cops for most of my teen years, but nowadays I'm more chilled about it. But I could totally understand those who hate cops. So all you who criticize the cop-haters, you must either be a cop or just someone who happens not to have been ever in contact with one.

I feel you. Nearly all of my experiences with cops have been negative, some of them EXTREMELY negative, so I can't help but laugh at this cop's pain.

'Get rid of speed limits,' 53? Why don't you read Fahrenheit 451 and find out what happens to society when the maximum speed becomes the minimum speed. Intelligent people know why speed limits, seat belts, and police are GOOD for the world.

All you random cop haters should probably go ahead and get bent, ******* dipshits. Guy was doing his job and you call him a pig? Do me a favor and never call 911. Never report when your stupid ass gets robbed, raped, or abused. Cops clearly only do bad things and deserve them for making you take responsibility for your ****-ups.

This. This, this, this. :) If you don't like the laws, write your governor/mayor/etc. They are just doing their job, which they picked to keep the community safe for everyone, including the ungrateful assholes. Don't want to be arrested? Don't commit a crime. I hate people who are so angsty they just have to hate "pigs" and "the man" just because, regardless of the fact that they are not the stem of the so-called problem.

Its not a crime, its a moving violation. Learn your laws people! They are not at all the same thing.

No, I'm not mad. I'm just expressing an opinion.. ? Ok, ok, sorry I worded it wrong. Don't commit a "violation". Sheesh. Point still stands.

speed limits shouldn't even exist. common sense should be used.

speed limits are enforced because people are seriously lacking in common sense of what would be the proper speed and are clearly unable to judge for themselves the most responsible and safe speed. Among numerous other hazards on the road.

where I am no one normally tickets you less you're going more than 10k over and less it's more than 15 it's still unlikely. course round here ten k over is a pretty standard speed that if you aren't going everyone round you is ticked.

honestly YDI, people are right that 10km/h is relatively nothing at all (when compared to some of the jackasses out that there will do 50mph through a 25nph zone (I see it daily). However, those that are saying that the law is the law are also right. If you are speeding and you get pulled over, you deserve the ticket. People speed on the hopes of not getting caught or because they feel that it isn't necessary to go as slow as the posted limit. BUT the same argument holds true for the cop. The cop is required to wear the HVV. This is so for a reason. The cop chose not to wear it and had the bad misfortune of pulling over a person with the authority to fine him for it. You can not say the cop was justified for fining the driver and turn around say the drive was not justified for fining the cop. Likewise you can not admonish the cop for the fine and not the driver (Saftey Officer). They both did their jobs and were BOTH within the letter of the law just as they were both breaking the law. Oh, and #3 if the cop had given another ticket for disrespecting a police officer he could have been desked or suspended for it. The Health and Saftey Officer has the right to fine anyone for violations. A cop ticking one for issuing a fine to him/her is guilty of abuse of power. A Badge does not put you above other laws or out of reach of other enforcers. Imagine a cop trying to ticket a judge for issuing a fine for contempt. How fast would that cop be off the force?

This was the most deserved FML yet!

that stinks, to everyone slamming him you can not lay all the problems that you have with cops at this guys door he was not the one who gave you your passed tickets so go to your rooms curl into a ball suck your thumbs, cry a river build a bridge and get over it already. I know two year olds that whine less than you poeple!

I know two year olds that spell better than you do.

The cop was doing his job, but the OSHA officer was doing his. Not quite an FML or YDI, but I'd say the irony is amusing. Duelling violations?
