Hog on hog action

Today, I pulled someone over for speeding. He was only 10 over the speed limit so I gave him an $84 fine. It turns out he is a workplace Occupational Health and Safety officer and because I wasn't wearing my high visibilty vest while standing on the side of the road he gave me a $250 fine. FML

Yeah, God forbid he actually did his job. It's scum like you who think it's okay to break the law if it's "only a little."

Yeah I know. Totally. F*ck him for pulling someone over that was going over the speed limit. I hate when cops pull people over for breaking the law. What a c*ckhole of a policeman.

A few weeks after I got my license, I got stopped for driving with my lights off at night (I was in a brightly-lit downtown -- I'm not a total moron), but I noticed the police car had one headlight out. He let me off with a warning.

I know what you were doing, Mr. I'm-such-a-skilled-multi-tasker.

I actually was with a cheerleader. I had been tutoring her in math. Really. Math. Nothing else. Shit. I was taking her home and the cop shat on my game. If I had any chance to get any "thank you" action from her, that incident snuffed that out.

plexi must have been a hottie. Math. Ha. That's a good one. What math? How many sperm it takes to impregnate a cheerleader?

I've love to see some other of the yahoos on this board try that one. "You can't give me a ticket! One of your headlights is out!" "Oh, which one?" "The left one. Oh, now it's the right out. Ah, the left one again..." "Get out the car dipshit."

In retrospect, I am amazed that I pulled that off. Imagine a 16-year-old kid getting pulled over with the flashing lights and siren blaring. Sitting with a hot girl. I was so terrified I was trembling. I remember having to make an effort to show the cop my license, my hand was trembling that badly. Somehow, through my hyperventilating, choked throat, I remember squeaking out, "Sir, I believe one of your headlights is out." ---------- Toxi, it was really math and nothing else. Seriously, if I had even gotten to kiss her, it would have made my life (to that point, at least)! It was actually geometry. One of my more ingenious ideas was I had a dissected a tennis ball to demonstrate that the surface area of a sphere is 4*pi*r^2. The two pieces look each look sort of like two circles adding up to 4 circles. The area of a circle is pi*r^2. Pretty good, huh?

Gotta admit, that is quite ingenious. Why didn't I have you as a tutor!? :O I'm good at math, though. Not so much on the History.

Ah! Thee 'ol turn-around! (or is it reach-around)

Chill he was just doing his job! 10 over is still breaking the law you know... I appreciate police officers and what they do for our communities. But it doooes suck that he got a fine after that hahaha

why is it ok for the cop to "just be doing his job" and pull the guy over for a minor infraction but it suck for the cop to get his own fine in return for violating whatever law dictates he wear the HVV? Both we're in violation, both got tagged, both deserved it. Move on.

Since we're talking Australia here, I would assume that we're actually talking 10 km/h over the speed limit, which is about 6.25 mph. So, maybe the OP was being a little picky about the speed, but in my opinion, if someone is going to speed - even if they think the speed limit is ridiculously slow and they're just going a little bit over - they need to be prepared to face the consequences. Everyone who's saying they hate cops for pulling people over who are just barely violating the law ought to realize that the law is the law, and if you don't like it, try to make a change!

Since it's Austrailia, it's also AUD. $84AUD = $73USD $250AUD - $213USD

You need a high visibility vest? What's the purpose of that, to make people think, "there's a cop in the area, so I should stop breaking the law"? Well for shit's sake, you shouldn't need to be able to see a cop to know to follow the law! Cops hide in bushes and shit here.

It so people can see the officers when theyre walking up to the other cars, that way they dont get hit by people driving by.

Funny I thought thats what all the bright flashy seizure inducing lights on my car were for...

Yeah but how about when the cop has to walk out into the road to direct traffic around an accident?? Every person is staring at his car lights and wouldn't see him standing out there. Cops are very rarely right around their car if it's an accident so the blue lights really only tell you to slow down, the vest tells you where he is located.

OMG that is just too perfect, I dont even care if its fake, that is perfect.

because no one has ever been hurt in a speeding related accident. who cares if you go 30 in a 15 area. its not like there is a reason for those signs anyway.

There are motor vehicle accidents every day. They cost many lives, and cause a lot of property damage. Pulling people over for not following traffic laws is an attempt to prevent accidents. So to say that police officers should be out "catching criminals" and not attempting to keep roads safe is just misguided and ignorant. Besides, you know how many criminals are caught from routine traffic stops?

speeders are real criminals too. Criminal: Noun A person who has committed a crime. Crime:Noun An action or omission that constitutes an offense that may be prosecuted by the state and is punishable by law. hey look at that. if you break the law you're a real honest to goodness criminal
