House hunting

Today, I was supposed to see an apartment. Thirty minutes after I was to meet the owner, she still hadn't shown. I called her. When I got no response, I was annoyed and kept calling. Finally, she answered, said, "I'm in the hospital with my father. He just died. Please stop calling me," and hung up. FML

thats not really a fml, how were you supposed to know? most people would do the same if someone didn't show when they were supposed to. Don't feel bad!

She was very rude considering you had no idea what had happened and she was still the one breaking her appointment without notification.

Pretty sure the lady has more important things going on right now then to answer you, it's not a fyl it's a fhl. Get over it.

I agree with the people saying it's not ops fault, and the landlady should have had some communication, but calling her a bitch seems a little harsh...

If she knew she was meeting with you, she should've called and rescheduled.

I don't even know what to say. Sure u didn't get to see the apartment, but her dad had just died. I think she wins.

Don't feel bad, OP. It was her responsibility to let you know that she wasn't going to be there so how were you supposed to know when she didn't fulfill her responsibility? It's a horrible thing, what happened to her father, but it really wasn't your fault so don't feel bad :/

It was her responsibility to call and reschedule. Why is she upset with you?

Would have been nice if she had bothered to contact you about it. I know emergencies happen, but honestly...

after 2 or 3 calls in the span of 10 minutes or more just cut your losses and wait for a response.

While I feel for her, it wouldn't have been that hard to send a text saying something had happened
