How could you do this to me?

Today, I learned I'm not allergic to gluten. My mom has kept me on a gluten-free diet since I was 5. She was convinced I was allergic to it. I'm 25 and I am writing this over my first slice of pizza in 20 years. FML

I mean, you can outgrow an allergy so don't hate her too much!

You should be celebrating instead of whining.! So, your mother made a mistake - a stupid one - but know you can eat pizza :) Be happy, and think of all the fat from pizzas you have avoided till now :)

I'm not really seeing what the big deal is... I mean my mom told my older sister she was allergic to sugar as a child so she wouldn't be able to have it and get hyper like other kids. The only reason she started having sugar in the first place was because my doink of a step-dad slipped and gave her a cookie. Parents do what they think is best for their children (usually). It was only so rough on you because you knew what you were missing. Enjoy that pizza OP.

It's possible you did have bad reactions as a kid and have grown out of it now. It happens a lot with milk allergies. In any case, try to forget it and revel in the fact that you can eat pizza now!

Isn't this a good thing rather than an FML?
