Mirorbo: This site definitely helps make that happen on occasion. And most strangers will drive away from a person desperately needing a ride somewhere, walk around their hurt bodies splayed on the sidewalk thinking "Somebody else will call them", and look on with a blank look on their face as a fellow human being is being attacked or chased, without so much as calling for help. So that losing faith in humanity thing is normal and expected. Most people just don't give a shit about most other humans in their society. **** them.
If you know your job involves you communicating with customers, why did you go in for work with laryngitis?
use google translate and tell your boss you're sick
Why would you go into work if you were very sick, especially if you are handling food? I realize you probably wear gloves and stuff, but gloves or not, I still wouldn't want someone with laryngitis touching and breathing on my food. Sorry people were rude (that's how many people are when dealing with servers/waiters/etc.), but in all honesty you should have stayed home instead of risking infecting a lot of people.
it's actually a Heath code violation in my state ( I work in the business.) gloves actually spread bacteria and are more unsanitary than your hand. due to natural bacteria fighting oils your skim produces.
YDI, stay home next time! But then again...save those sick days off to do fun things when you are healthy...
you're sick and working at a place where you serve food to lots of people...you're a smart one
I agree with previous posts. Why would you go to work sick, especially when dealing with food? If people would stay home and take care of themselves like they are supposed to when they are sick, so many less people would actually get sick. For every work day you go to sick, I bet you get at least five people sick who would not have gotten sick if you had not shown up. Not to mention it's just downright miserable to work sick. Stay at home and take care of yourself next time!

I bet you want to scream.
Kudos to you, you are a dedicated worker!
