I just work here

Today, I was verbally abused by a customer because her entrée was too fishy. I'm not the chef, just the waiter and I work at a fish grill. FML

I think Captain Obvious should stop going out in public.

What a dick! Have you told the person to go to a burger shop if she doesn't like fishy food at a Fish grill

Asshole customer... The joy of being in the service industry eh? There are nice people who make it worthwhile too though, in fact, sometimes I still miss being a barista :)

hope she didn't send it back because if scenes from movies and shows of this exact thing have taught me anything is the cooks are a-holes and spit on your food

That's a legitimate complaint. Once you've tasted "fishy" fish, you'll know what I mean. Some say that it comes from fish that's not quite fresh when it finally gets cooked and you are tasting the products of decomposition. And, yes, waiters are the interface between the restaurant and the customer, so it makes sense that you will take the brunt of the complaints. On the other hand, you do get the tips!

What has the world come to these days when fish tastes like fish. And those Ethiopian children think they have it bad..

#34, there's a difference between fish and rotting fish. When you taste it, you'll know!

Garcon! Garcon! There's too much fish in my fish taco!

I was wondering if anyone would post this among all the "people are stupid" comments. When your fish is fresh, it doesn't taste "fishy". That doesn't mean it doesn't take like fish - it just isn't a strong overwhelming fishy taste.

Yay an intelligent comment. The one place you don't want to smell fishy smell is a sushi bar. If you smell fish at a sushi bar you're going to spend the rest of the night throwing up.

I think a lot of customers just want to find something to complain about. I work in retail and you'd be surprised by the amount of things customers blame on you that you had nothing to do with.

I know your pain I also work at a fish restaurant. We have had people do the same thing.

If all of you are used to eating really "fishy" fish, then I feel sorry for you. If seafood has a strong fishy smell/taste to it, it's not fresh. That taste is the result of decomposition and bacteria, not the actual fish. Eat a really good, fresh fish and you'll know what I'm talking about.

"No, that's your rotten twat that you're smelling"

so long, and thanks for all the fish.
