Today, while checking out a couple at work, I handed them their receipt and wished them a good day. The woman promptly pulled her husband to the side, and whispered to him about how much of a "fucking idiot" I was for making the prices so high. I work at McDonald's. FML

Well, you do not deserve that at all. Be happy that you are not as stupid as this woman and know that McDonalds has only one prize everywhere and that the normal cashier cannot influence it.

I hear that in the service industry, you have to be equipped to deal with a constant stream of "******* idiots" I couldn't deal with morons like that on a daily basis.

I'm a waitress and get paid under min. wage. trust me the paycheck just isn't worth how many people you deal with on a daily basis that are morons or just plain rude

Not too surprising. People blame employees all the time. Ex: When my job's prices go up, I've had some say, "I can't believe "you" raised your prices!" As if I had something to do with it? Wonder who that woman blames at the gas pump? :P

i totally sympathise with this. i used to work in Harry Ramsden's (my fellow brits can vouch for how much of a rip off it is) and whenever the prices got put up i always got shouted at, people told me how disgusting 'my' company was and i can guarantee they'll never come back. the email complaints were the best; more often than not it would be a 3 page bleat on how when they were younger they ate at the original Harry's in Leeds and they wanted to show their grandchildren how delicious it was, only to have their hopes and dreams shattered when they paid 4 pounds for a piddly little bit of fish (read: they had ordered the small fish and chips meal deal) FYL OP

Unless they ordered 10 things on the dollar menu and expected the bill to be a dollar. IDIOTS: What?! I ordered from the dollar menu and this came out to $12! How ******* expensive!!! OP: It says dollar menu. It doesn't say how many dollars. If you want to pay in Dinar, go a couple of blocks west.
