I'm confused

By confusedbagel - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United States - Los Angeles

Today, my boss fired me for being "too morally ambiguous". I work at a bagel shop and had told a customer that I was indifferent towards cream cheese. FML

No whey? I guess you must be feeling kinda bleu after he fired you.

Because that's definitely not an unfair dismissal.

Oh man! You missed your big chance to charge him with 'religious intolerance'! Cream cheese is an anathema to people of your 'faith' and you are merely trying not to discriminate against those who consume it in ritual sacrifices of bread products.

Damn, you really took that too far... Sheesh.

This person gets charged with any kind of moral transgression when it comes to food choices, AND gets fired for it, and I'M taking it too far?

While I agree that FYL, I do kinda feel that, while working in a bagel shop, one does have an obligation to care about cream cheese.

Don't let Foamy see this FML. He'll unleash his squirrely wrath on OP.

I'm sorry I've only got two thumbs I can give you.

He was looking for a reason, you should have started a union, it's tough to fire someone for silly reasons when a union is involved.

don't you mean work(ed) at a bagel shop?

#60, No, it's still a bagel shop.

#62 - It was a sort of satire on the abundance of "You mean EX-girlfriend" or "*ex-husband" comments on relationship FMLs. Knew I should have added the ":P"

I get it but it still isn't an ex bagel shop, and quotes wouldn't change that. it's an ex employee. It's only witty and satiric if it makes sense.

Butter or Jelly fan? I can understand...but losing your job for that is a bit drastic...

While I think that sux, why work at a bagel shop when you hate the most picked "topping"

OP doesn't hate cream cheese but is indifferent to it. comme ci, comme ca
