Reverse psychology, maybe?
Yeah, all those people with chronic depression seeking help so they can perhaps make it through a day without crying? Pfffffft!!! What's up with that?
Funny, I always thought the selfish ones are those with problems that tear their family apart but refuse to acknowledge said problems or do anything about it, like seeing a therapist.

Show it anywayYou should point that out to the staff. Such an article could be bad for business. I find it depressing that therapy is not really about healing human spirits, it's really just a business. But you probably have enough on your plate not to think about that, too.
I don't think it's sad that therapy is a business; everyone must make wages to live. It's not sad to pay a doctor to help you heal physically, nor is it sad to pay a therapist to help you heal mentally. Ideally all professions would be operated in an ethical way that makes us feel good about recompensing them for their services.
Don't listen to that journalist. You're there to listen to the therapist. Therapist > Journalist.
Depression is totally self-indulgent, selfish and self defeating, so I see no issue with the comment. Albeit, knowing my own and managing my depression ongoing. The damage is what we spew on those close to and around us.
The therapist strategically placed that magazine there knowing a patient would read the article.
And achieve what?
Wow, OP, that actually does suck. Depression is hard enough to deal with, without having to read judgemental shit like that. I hope it didn't get to you too much.

They should probably monitor what they're giving the patients to read.. :/ Don't worry, OP. There's no shame in seeing a therapist. At least you're trying to get help! :)
You would think they wouldn't have magazines like that in their waiting room. I hope you pointed it out.
