I hope she beat him with her deadly old lady purse!
If the old lady was still up the stairs why did the man not think the suitcase was yours? And could the lady not, at some point yell out, "hey, he is helping me, not stilling from me"?
For one, the OP is a she not a he.
OK, replace "he" with "she". Now, what's #2?
Also, since the lady wasn't yelling for help or looking distressed, why assume it was being stolen? I would assume OP was the lady's neighbour or family member and was helping her out, if not that the suitcase belonged to OP herself.
No stilling. She was refining the alcohal out of the suitcase.
That’s distilling.
Sometimes I wonder why some people are so paranoid they feel the need to instantly tackle people... I don't think you're going to be moving very fast carrying luggage. So why not just confront you instead of resorting to violence?
Walk slowly next to the woman the whole time don't beat her down the stairs
No, actually the lady should have told him he made a mistake, then make him carry the bag and help the OP after apologizing for being a well-intentioned idiot.

Don't even attempt to help her cross the road then. You may not live through the experience.
