Today, I gave a girl I like a $200 diamond necklace to express how much she means to me. She gave me a hug and told me she didn't want to lose me as a friend. Nor did she want to lose her new necklace. Today, I got a $200 hug. FML

That was really stupid of you. You don't give a $200 necklace to a girl you just "like", especially with the attitude that she's going to want to date you as a result. I can sympathize with you in that it sucks when you know the girl has put you in the "friend zone" when you do believe you could be good together but she won't give it any consideration, but when you bought that for her expecting more than friendship appreciation you were trying to buy her love. Whether you were consciously thinking that or not, that's what you were trying to do.

Oh dear, op when you "like" a girl and haven't told her of these feelings, YOU DON'T SPEND $200! YDI, next time make sure to have a girlfriend before you spend that amount of money. Oh and also you can get a cutsie diamond necklace for two hundred. I use to sell jewlery at Macy's for fashion and fine jewlery. My fiancée bought me a black and white diamond necklace that was in the shape of a panda bear holding bamboo for around $300 and it's really nice. Of course the key word being "fiancée"... So it could have been a fashion diamond piece of jewlery that is still nice.
