(In no specific order) 1.) why was he in jail? 2.) how solid is this bailout good for blackmail later? 3.) just kidding on #2-WTF would you bail an ex or even a current spouse or significant other out of jail? If they are "smart enough" to get themselves in jail, they are definitely "smart enough" to get their own @$$es out. ?

You bailed your ex-husband out of jail. Why? He's an ex for a reason - you don't owe that asshole anything. You didn't HAVE to do anything. You could have just said, "**** you. **** your new wife. Don't **** all those dicks you'll be getting in the pokey." See, it's not that hard!

YDI for agreeing. I once had an ex call to ask for bail money. All I did was laugh at him and hang up.
