Kids these days…

Today, my two year-old cousin was having a temper tantrum. I decided to give him a flashlight because playing with it usually distracts him. It didn't. Instead, he hit me in the face with it as hard as possible, leaving a bruise. FML

You don't give kids having tantrums anything they can HURT YOU WITH!!!

Does he have special needs? Sometimes that is how children with special needs act. Now, if his special need is SBS (spoiled brat syndrome), then tell your sibling and their SO that you will NOT be babysitting unless a) you're paid twice minimum wage and b) they're presesnt. Let them get their asses beat ,it's a good form of birth control for them.

Aww, you got a bruise? You want us to kiss it and give you a band-aid?

Many commenters seem to not realize the intelligence level of a two year old. Many of them cannot talk yet, are too young to just leave in a room and spanking them will just make them more angry without them understanding why they are being punished. This FML is hardly one, the person watching the baby should have known how to handle an upset child. Totally YDI, and I would suggest not babysitting anymore.

yo fault. Rather than deal with a tantrum, you gave him a toy instead. Which he used to beat some sense into you. You need to deal with the kid's needs before you give him a toy to play with. He is the Rafiki to your Simba.

Well, that's definitely one demonstration for why you shouldn't give ANYTHING to some bratty little kid to get them to behave. The only thing they should get when they're being awful is discipline. Two year olds are smarter than people give them credit for. Just because there's a language barrier doesn't mean they dont' get it. It's like training a puppy. They can't speak english. They're just babies. And they might not get it at first either and go sulk but they get it pretty quickly.

Ok, first of all, why didn't you just hit HIM with the flashlight to begin with (tantrum solved)? And secondly, if he was having a temper tantrum, why on earth would you hand the little shit something you could kill a person with??? "Oh, Timmy's angry again. Here Timmy, play with this machete like a good boy..."

YDI for getting close enough to the little demon to get hit. Dumbass.
