Less haste, less speed

Today, while driving extremely fast on a road in the middle of nowhere, I started to go down a hill. Noticing a police car at the bottom, I slammed my brakes and blew a tire in the process. It turns out the police car was an old cutout used to trick people. FML

You're an idiot. It's one thing to floor it on a straightaway in the middle of nowhere when you can see way in front of you, but you were doing it coming over a hill where you can't see who or what may have been on the other side. It'a selfish, reckless assholes like you that kill people on the roads.

Sport cars are overrated anyways. SUVs are much better seeing as they offer privacy, gizmos, luxury, are easier to drive and has much more power - often 500bhp.

Believe it or not, SUVs come in many varieties - including hybrid. Also, sport cars tend to have 2 seats and SUVs 5/7 so per passenger, the SUV produces less pollution. Also, SUVs cost similar amounts to a sport car. I'm talking Audi Q5, X1 or similar, not a Hummer H2.

I'm guessing you have never driven a real sports car, or much else besides a SUV. How many 500hp SUV gets better than 20mpg, better yet how about 15mpg? Just because it might have 5/7 seats doesn't mean there is more than 1 or 2 people in most of the time, which would make it about 1/2 as efficient.

500 bhp doesn't automatically make it faster. An SUV could easily be beat by a sports car with half the horse power.

More than likely the tires on the car were well beyond their prime, I have done this with bike tires before but not my car as I tend to replace those before the wires are showing.

I like how everyone's pretending that driving over the speed limit is dangerous. If someone steps out in front of your car they're going to get killed whether you're going 50 or 100, so that's just dumb on their part. Honestly it's probably safer to go 100MPH (assuming you're used to driving that fast) than it is to go 60 and fall asleep at the wheel.

You're not a real bright one are you captainblack? High speed driving is all about reflexes and mental acuity. At 60K, you should, in most cases be able to avoid the pedestrian entirely. At 160,not do much. I hope for the sake of the residents of your town, that you do not drive.
