Long goodbye

Today, I got a call from a potential employer. They spent five minutes explaining job duties and I listened with anticipation. Then they spent five minutes explaining why I wasn't the right person for the job. FML

It was nice of them to deliver such a personal rejection, I mostly just get automated letters or nothing at all. But maybe this was a bit over the top..

Take their feedback and adjust your presentation and resume for future applications to similar jobs. Drop them a letter thanking them for the frank assessment and advise them you are are making the changes they suggested and you hope they will reconsider you in the future That type of initiative could get you reconsidered later,if the person they hired doesn't complete the probationary period, or considered for other openings later Management looks for people that can reflect, learn and adapt Good luck with your search, you got passed the screening of resumes to the interview stage, so you are on the right track

Hey OP, you got phone screened. Employers want to make sure a candidate is able to fill all the requirements for a job without wasting time bringing the candidate in for an interview if they aren't a match. If the candidate doesn't like an aspect of the duties or salary or, is unable to meet the physical or time requirements of the position; the employer thanks them for their time and moves onto the next candidate. It's that simple. I'm guessing OP said something that didn't sit well with the screener.

That sucks.. But its kind of good that he gave you detailed feedback... Now You can work on the areas you were rejected for

I had a job interview like this once!! People are so mean sometimes

The only thing more annoying than a telemarketing call would be this.

Call them back and tell them to go to hell

Oh thats when i say "sir, you can go f yourself and thank you for wasting my time
