You swerved... for a dead animal? I can kind of understand if it's a live one, but it's already dead, so who cares if you run over it?

Well if you even knew a little bit about cars you would that it could screw up the tires and it could also mis-align the axel and mess up the suspension.

Never swerve. You could cause a wreck over an animal or roadkill. Better you get some damage or have to wasb your car than killing someone in a multicar pile up.
