By upupandaway - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I spent two hours perfecting a really romantic text message to my boyfriend for our one year anniversary. I listed all the things I loved about him, and recalled some of our best times together. Two minutes after I sent it, he replied, "Huh?" FML

It's a text, never say anything meaningful in a text.

Step One: buy a sentimental greeting card Step Two: fill it with all the things that would have been in the text, sans chatspeak Step Three: personally give it to your significant other along with a heartfelt gift Seriously--there's nothing romantic about a text message! Never say anything important over text, the phone, or email if you can help it. Always say it in person!! Let this be a lesson to you.

Text messages are not romantic, You should have just wrote a letter all pretty and stuff, than hand delivered it, NOT A TEXT MESSAGE

Text messages are as romantic as bathroom stalls, You should have just wrote a letter all pretty and stuff, than hand delivered it, NOT A TEXT MESSAGE

Bad connection maybe? Happens to me sometimes when aim is acting up. FYL

And you're 14. Grown ups are talking.

I hate when people send long, romantic texts, who wants to read all that? If you have something romantic to say, say it in person.

When I sent a romantic text to my boyfriend for our one year anniversary for our one year anniversary all he did was say "yay" >.> then for some reason he just kept avoiding that it was our one year anniversary, guys are so weird!
