Not a FML... You got a duck :/
This isn't really an FML. I will agree with #16 though... your life is ducked. ;P And @ the people who are like "OMG you gold-digging ****!!" - she DID NOT SAY "Jackpot!" because her boyfriend proposed, she said "jackpot!" because she found a cute plushie duck. Her FRIEND misunderstood and thought it had something to do with being proposed to. Jesus, people, learn some reading comprehension.
Everyone calling the OP a gold digger is extremely insecure and has serious reading comprehension issues. She was not saying it in regards to an engagement, she was saying it because she found and item she likes. Which demonstrates that the term "jackpot" does not necessarily have to refer to monetary gain, but also to obtaining something you admire, which is a perfectly reasonable reaction to getting engaged to someone you love. The term "****" however has absolutely no place in this situation. You know nothing about the OP sexual habits. So kindly STFU and quit reaching.
Consider this: he might not want to get married, or he does, but not to you.
Saying "Jackpot!" = a marriage proposal? What the hell was your friend thinking?
That. Is. Awesome. Made me seriously chuckle. And just because her friend assumed "jackpot" meant he proposed doesn't make either one of them greedy. Perhaps she had shared her frustration over him not proposing with this friend, enough so that it popped into her head first thing. Also, "jackpot" can be interpreted as the ultimate prize, or something you hope to attain. Now if she'd said "motherload," that would be worse.
Depending on how old you are, it's time to tell that boyfriend of yours that you either get married or you start seeing other people. There is no good reason to not be married after dating 6 years, unless you started dating when you were a teenager or something. And if you DID start dating when you were a teenager, you need to find out what else is out there!
