#131, I won't touch on most of your post because it's clear I'm not going to be able to explain the basic facets of politeness to you, but I would like to point out: "Nowhere in the original post did the person say this was a special meal prepared for them." The context makes it pretty obvious. If she was over there, and the family did not know she didn't eat meat, logically, it's clear that this is her first real meal with her boyfriends family, making it very likely that it was prepared for her as a guest. "It doesn't even state that the mother was offended by this." Of course not. She may not have said it out loud, but it's perfectly normal for a person to get offended if a guest won't eat the meal they prepared. Many people take pride in their cooking. Just because the post doesn't say thing that are irrelevant to the actual FML doesn't mean those things can't be inferred from the context.
To the OP: How do you live with yourself? 1) You're a vegetarian 2) You're on here b*tching about the dad, when its so clear he's 100x cooler than you'll ever be 3) The dad also knows how to joke around and have fun. If nobody laughed at the joke, it's only because you're an insecure tightwad. if you had laughed, everyone else would have too. But nooo you had to ruin the moment and make it awkward! ...Tool. 4) The worst part? the dad was RIGHT! Hahahahah LMFAO. Why are vegetarians always liberal ******? Like really. Call me stereotypical or bigoted or a chauvinist pig. I really don't care. But doesn't anybody else see that correlation?
#138 -- how do you know the dad was right and not just making assumptions? Can you imagine being in this situation if the OP and bf haven't actually done anything sexual yet? How would you react to that kind of comment? I would be shocked/embarrassed/offended and that would make for a very awkward meal.
that's the funniest thing of ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha. I've had similar thoughts involving a hot vegetarian I know. GO DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the record, that's honestly not tht bad. u couldn't have bin dating him 4 tht long if his mom didn't kno tht. therefore, you prolly never have done such things i would hope.
#114 - "I smoke weed, have long (often dirty) hair, adore the Beatles, looking at acid sometime soon-ish, and have a boyf with gorgeous long hair. And I recycle and love nature to death. What's wrong with any of that?" Ummm, weed and acid are illegal?

Hahaha, awesome father :D
boyfriends fault imo. If I were having my girlfriend over I'd make sure my mom knew she was a vegetarian. Dad sounds like a cool guy though
