Leave and go out for a family breakfast somewhere that's open, like a dennys or an IHOP (sorry, you won't get much better than that, but it'll salvage your Christmas)
11- seriously?! Would you rather open presents after an hour of cleaning or after 2 hours of eating and an extra hour of cleaning? 1 hour > 3 hours of waiting..
Or... They could finish cleaning the house and spend time together as a family after. That way OPs mom is happy.
56- waffle house is where it's at! Family tradition!
Why did you say "apparently"? Are you implying that the presents ARE going somewhere?
"The presents aren't going anywhere." "This just in, Santa Claus is recalling ALL christmas gifts due to a screw up at the north pole, which was caused by drunken elves. Please place all christmas gifts outside of your fromt door for the pick up. Sorry for any inconvenience." -Santa Claus' assisstant
Yes, you see. Gravity is actually disabled on Christmas Day. How else do you think Santa makes his rounds? |the kid|
Do you know what the word "apparently" means? Your presents aren't going to walk away. Stop being a materialistic douche and start cleaning if you want your presents so badly.
Seriously, my guess is mom was most likely asking them to clean before Christmas.
^agreed
101- Go learn some grammar and common sense before you comment, please.
Why not help clean up? She took the time to buy and wrap some of those gifts. You know that once everything is opened it becomes a huge mess and then those small parts get lost. Most kids bugger off and won't help after the gifts are open. They want to play with the toys they just got. It's about everyone being a family and pitching in as a family. :)
QUICK TEN MINUTE CLEAN UP JOB ....... BEGIN
She only birthed you, fed you, gave you a home and bought you gifts for an over-commercialized Holiday. You should probably go pick up a broom.
Well...when put it that way

Unless you have a 5 story mansion with tons of rooms and she wants you to clean all windows, floors, ceiling etc then it's not really that bad.
Haha, sounds like something my mom would do. She's such a perfectionist. But hey, at least you're still getting the presents! Merry Christmas!
