Yall who are saying the OP should be a better parent have no idea what it is like to take care of a 2/3 year old. While you can teach them how to act correctly and try your best to make them polite children, inevitably they will have moments of tantrums and crying. They are young and cant actually control their emotions so its not always the parents fault.
here's a novel idea: try disciplining your children for a change!
I'm guessing your family has some experience with your children. ydi
OP **** your family. Kids have tantrums from time to time. How about they be good family members and help out with the children in your family instead of shunning them. Family’s are supposed to stick together. “It takes a village to raise a child.” AND yes! Sometimes parents need help. Hell last Christmas my toddler niece threw a tantrum which made my sister overwhelmed so I helped calm my niece down. I didn’t spank her or anything I was just very firm with her. Do better

Gosh, I wonder what happened last year? What do you think is more likely: the entire family is a bunch of jerks, or OP is one of "those" parents that lets their kids run wild. We all know there are plenty of people like that.
My house, my rules, and the rule is "no screaming kids". Maybe you have the gathering at your place next time so when your kids act up and you're asked by a guest to calm them down, you can tell the guest to put up with it or get out. Your house, your rules.
