Merry Xmas

Today, a friend had invited me to Christmas dinner since I have no family close by. When I got there, she told me that her and her husband had forgotten they had another dinner to go to, and asked if I would watch their kids for them. They each grabbed a handful of cookies I had baked and rushed out the door. FML

It seems to me as if they baited you into coming just to have you babysit their kids OP. If similar things have happened before you might want to reconsider them as friends.

Jerks. Ditch them and acquire some cat friends. At least they won't leave you.

I would've thrown the kids in the car and followed them to their destination.

I would have called them back and gave them 5 minutes to come back or i would call the police and leave the kids once they arrived. what they did wasn't right I think u should find a better friend

"Forgot" my ass. Call them out on that BS

Well If your real friends watching their kids shouldn't really be all that bad and I'm assuming you had nothing else to do anyway. The real deal breaker for me would be if they at-least made a real Christmas dinner for you and the kids though i'm not saying tricking you into baby sitting was an ok thing to do they should have asked beforehand.

Real nice "friends" you've got there. I would've just called a babysitter and sent them the bill; better to stay home with some movies than looking after their kids, especially if they're young.

I've had situations like that with some friends.. I love them, but to be left with the feeling that you were baited in really blows. I'm sorry OP, I hope the rest of the evening was enjoyable!

I recommend red cordial and indoor kick ball, kids love that stuff!

Give the kids the rest of the cookies, washed down with red bull just before the parents due home. That was really shitty move by them.

Nah, don't make the kids miserable. :( Just let them have a really, really good time trashing the hell out of the house.
