Merry Xmas

Today, a friend had invited me to Christmas dinner since I have no family close by. When I got there, she told me that her and her husband had forgotten they had another dinner to go to, and asked if I would watch their kids for them. They each grabbed a handful of cookies I had baked and rushed out the door. FML

It seems to me as if they baited you into coming just to have you babysit their kids OP. If similar things have happened before you might want to reconsider them as friends.

Jerks. Ditch them and acquire some cat friends. At least they won't leave you.

No one "forgets" they made plans to be away from their children on Christmas.

merry Christmas OP..I believe you have figured out they are not your friends anymore... we need a followup on this FML..

Some friends they are. I hope you made them pay you for babysitting their kids. What they did is beyond rude and insensitive.

Seems ur friend is the worst person that no one should have in their lives.. they r totally awful

Just give their kids a puppy and lots of sugar when they get back

Keep quiet, watch their kids. Feed them tons of sugary stuff and tell them really scary stories about things that will stick with them after you've gone. Let them stay up super late. Then when the parents get back, casually say, "Okay, that'll be $$$$$ please." And drop in a really extortionate number. Refuse to leave until they pay you.

Those people are not your friends. They took advantage of you, and you let them do it. Have a little more respect for yourself. Get those people out of your life. You'll be better off for it.

You got played by a couple of grinches.

They sound like horrible people leaving their own children at Christmas
