Merry Xmas

Today, a friend had invited me to Christmas dinner since I have no family close by. When I got there, she told me that her and her husband had forgotten they had another dinner to go to, and asked if I would watch their kids for them. They each grabbed a handful of cookies I had baked and rushed out the door. FML

It seems to me as if they baited you into coming just to have you babysit their kids OP. If similar things have happened before you might want to reconsider them as friends.

Jerks. Ditch them and acquire some cat friends. At least they won't leave you.

This is so unacceptable during anytime of the year but for CHRISTMAS dinner it is going way way way over the line.

Piss on the ******* sofa.... Show em how friends don't treat each other!

I feel bad for the kids getting left behind. I'm not sure what kind of Christmas dinner doesn't involve my child being there..... If I ditched him I'd probably get thrown out to go retrieve the kid and not come back until I had him.

Charge them babysitting fees. Christmas day is premium day and last second, So triple. And an extra bonus for each child. That seems fair to me

Your "friend" sounds like a pretty crappy person. You don't just forget about a Christmas night dinner...

Just say no and leave. That's just mean

Nope! That would piss me off. Besides... Why the hell would parents not want their kids around for Christmas?? I say ditch the "friendship."
