Honestly, I don't blame you for being cautious about any men coming towards you in groups, especially if they are looking at you. I walk around a lot and have had many uncomfortable/scary experiences with men hooting, hollering, and driving next to me in their car. I think you jumped the gun by pulling out the knife, but don't feel bad about being cautious. You need to sense danger to protect yourself, and paying attention to your surroundings is important. Maybe you're not stereotyping burly men, but men in general?
YDI for pre-judging them just because of their body-type, and for not noticing their daughters. If it was nighttime and you were in a dark allewyway or something, your caution might be understood, but if it was still daylight outside and you were in a public place, then you were acting WAY too prematurely.
Paranoid much? If you were in a dark alley at dusk I guess that'd be more understandable but something tells me if they were looking for the ice-cream store they weren't wondering around in a dark alley.
by "burly" do you mean "black" i'm just wondering
how did you not notice their daughters...what a stupid fml

Mafia leaders see their daughters during the week too. What's wrong with you?
They had their daughters with them at the time? If so, then you're an idiot.
