Believe it or not you can use common sense to make a judgement call on which questions to ask and fill in the obvious ones yourself...
Believe it or not when something is store policy, the employee can be fired for not following it
That's when I'd have said "I'm required to ask this question."
Well then stab her eyes out... She can't give you a bitch look anymore :3
As a computer technician I feel your pain. Watch the IT Crowd and maybe you won't feel so bad.
"Now I have to ask you these questions due to store policy" how hard is that?
"Sorry, I know these questions are stupid, but it's store policy. I could lose my job if I don't ask them". Problem solved!
"Hello IT have you tried turning it off and on again" - Roy from the IT crowd.
I almost got sad because I haven't seen any reference to it and about to make the same comment but I am now satisfied xD
Haha. Anytime I see someone post something about a computer problem I have to post this quote.
haha

"Have you tried reinstalling windows?" "My disc drive is in 17 pieces, what the **** do YOU think?"
Today, my laptop is smashed beyond repair, so I went into a store to get my files recovered. The man did nothing but smile and ask stupid questions like, "Did you try turning it on and off?" FML
