News to me

Today, I went to the doctor for a sports physical. I've had a giant, dark birthmark on my left ribcage that I've hated most of my life. Recently I've learned to embrace it and show it off by wearing bikinis. My doctor saw it and told me it's a fungus that's been spreading on my side all my life. FML

that's retarded, physicals are just checkups nothing at all to do with sex... i had one when i was 10, then 15 (maybe before also, but i don't remember that) and i have never had sex. besides, some people never have sex in their lives, how would they detect any problems then?

This happened to my sister, she thought it would go away and didn't bother mentioning anything about it until it was covering most of her stomach. Our parents took her to the doctor once they found out, the doctor gave her some kind of medicine/body wash/lotion thing, and it supposedly cleared up in about a week. Its kind of gross but apparently easy to deal with, good luck OP!

146 you have shitty doctors. I suggest new ones that do actually care when a patient's heart makes off sounds. Op this sucks, but apparently it isn't life threatening and there's a way to treat it. keep strutting your stuff :) its going to take a long time to get rid of, but you can do it with the right Meds hopefully. I had a really bad case of ringworm one time ( which is a fungus) and it took foreverrrr to get rid of, but it did go away.

Ew. Pretty inconsiderate for other people. Why would you show that off?

Well, if you think about it, that's kinda good. Cuz now it can be removed, right?

I'm sorry. Hopefully they can cure it. And if you are sad because you feel you'll lose some physical individuality if you don't have the birth mark, look into getting a tattoo :)

Wow talk about your past doctors being incompetent morons and if you were always self-conscious about it even if it was a birth mark you could have still had it removed

It can't be removed is under the skin so the only thing you can do is gradually lighten your skin with sulfur baths and ensure you kill all the fungus.
