No shame

By bluewatersify - This FML is from back in 2010 but it's good stuff - Australia

Today, I got a letter in the mail, my mother has applied for a reduction in her child support payments for my brother and me. She's paid $10 child support in 16 years. FML

Wow.. Parent of the Year right there. :-/

"Welcome to the 21st Century"?! The the biggest load of bullshit I've heard #7!! This woman chose to squeeze these two kids out of her uterus, therefore she is just as responsible for raising and supporting them as the father. And I guarantee that if it was the father who was stiffing them on child support and ignoring their existence, you'd be calling him a deadbeat father. OP, you're better off without her in your life.

My nephew's dad did that and my sister agreed. Some people shouldn't breed.

your nephews dad?? so like your brother then?

Notice she said "nephew's dad" and "sister." I doubt the nephew's dad is her brother--he's her brother-in-law if he's married to her sister, and judging from the look of the post, he's not married to her sister anymore. Same way my aunt isn't my aunt anymore because she divorced my uncle, who's my mom's brother. She's the mother of my cousins. *grammar nazi will shut up now*

From the sound of it you should be glad you're not living with your mom. She sounds like trailer trash!

I posted something 5x... and it never posted. What is wrong with this site at the moment? Edit: WTF!? This got posted and not my actual post?!

send her 10$ back in the mail, along with a supeena for not paying the proper amount for 16 years.

Well, you can always hope that she's trying to get it reduced to something more affordable for her, so that she can start making an effort to pay something... but I wouldn't bet on it. :/ If you've gotten this far without her help, might as well figure on going the rest of the way on your own.

OP, that's a FML. To idkweird, it could be that it was sent to OP's dad and they saw it. If it was addressed to the family, they could have opened it. And to all those correcting their grammer, it's a little silly. Yes, thier grammer is incorrect. Yes, they should know. But do you need really to correct them? To point out just how much smarter you are? It's a little pathetic. Same to anyone who says the OP deserves it.

Okay this just sucks, I'm really sorry to hear about that. This is the same situation my step brother is in. And secondly, ydi for grammar errors?! What the hell?! Do you people not have a heart?! This is totally an "I agree your life sucks" fml.
