No shame

By bluewatersify - This FML is from back in 2010 but it's good stuff - Australia

Today, I got a letter in the mail, my mother has applied for a reduction in her child support payments for my brother and me. She's paid $10 child support in 16 years. FML

Wow.. Parent of the Year right there. :-/

"Welcome to the 21st Century"?! The the biggest load of bullshit I've heard #7!! This woman chose to squeeze these two kids out of her uterus, therefore she is just as responsible for raising and supporting them as the father. And I guarantee that if it was the father who was stiffing them on child support and ignoring their existence, you'd be calling him a deadbeat father. OP, you're better off without her in your life.

well my dad doesnt pay child support and his 'new' kids are spoiled rotten.

Sry to hear that but I totally understand. My "friend" had two kids with this chick and yrs after they broke up got with a chick with a kid. Guess what kid got spoiled and which kids where on assistance and had charities helping them.

If ur mom was told by a judge to pay a certin amount then she has to pay it until she is tild other wise.... Ur dad could go after her for that if he wanted to ( if there was a set amount she was supposed to pay)

I feel for you OP. My daughters dad feels that paying $188 a month for support is too much. What I have to spend on her doesn't go on income so why should he get to only pay what he can afford? He owes me $6000 and has only paid it willingly (and not even the amount he has to pay) maybe once or twice. Where I live, if you make arrangements with FMEP, they won't garnish your paychecks and will only take from GST or your income tax refund. He calls me a deadbeat when his knickers are in a twist (which is at least once a week) lol it actually is kind of funny. Call the person who is raising your child, and providing for her, a deadbeat when he doesn't see her often at all. Maybe once every couple of months (and that's being generous)for about an hour at a time. Deadbeat parents suck, and not only for the other parent who picks up the slack but the kids suffer too.
