I hate it when men say me and "the wife"... i mean is she a "thing" or something?
I hate parents like this! grow a backbone and confront your kid!!!
I would suggest closing her door next time with the cat NOT* in the room. that way she can't escape. then I come and soak** her away. *important **autocorrect mistake, but it fits with the name
So funny that everyone is saying the cat is such a danger to a toddler and yet no one realizes that it's sleeping in the parents bed that is equally or even more dangerous to a toddler or a baby. You easily roll over in your sleep, right on top of wittle baby foo foo, crushing your offspring to death. Not to mention the clearly unhealthy effect it will have on your marriage. OP, let your kid sleep in her own room, even though you already are kind of late with that already.
You're the parent so make your kid sleep in her own room. Duh. YDI for allowing your child to sleep in your room in the first place. YDI for breeding too.
YDI for not feeding your cat that food that prevents hair balls, not making her close her door at night (fire hazard), and being such a push over and letting her sleep in your room all the time.
i suggest you see supernanny on youtube , it really helps..heres what she does..: a parent puts his/her child in his bed and stays in the room with him on the floor so that he'll feel secure.. obviously at first its gonna take a while and hes gonna get off the bed for alot of times..calmly you just put him back , even if take 20 or more times ...eventually he'll be tired and stays in it until he falls asleep, but be sure to stay in his room until he does... eventually he'll listen to you when his bedtime comes
to those who are saying kids should be locked in their rooms...ITS NOT THE RIGHT WAY!! kids need to feel safe and secure when theyre gonna spend the night alone..if you lock them ,theyre gonna think you dont love them and youre just trying to get rid of them ...and thats just cruel ... people, grow an open mind and think logically , please

you should of put her right back in HER bed & let her there. if you tough it out a few nights she will learn that her bed is where she is SUPPOSED to be. all you are teaching her now is how to manipulate to get her own way.
You sure you or your wife is not just using that as an excuse? I mean sometimes one or both parents will overprotect the child and the child picks up on all that. If your nervous and worried about things all the time then the kid will mimic this and think that they too should be like that. Of course the kid could just be a little pussy. Tell her to get back to her bed or you will tell her of all the things out there that she should REALLY be afraid of. :-P
