Even if it wasn't for the complete unpredictability of genetics, it's totally not rare that the hair changes with growing up. But as someone said, maybe he isn't a retard and he just needed an excuse to dump you because he realised he doesn't want any child yet. In this case he's a bastard and you still don't try to convince him and just dump him. And all the people that say that you should have get married first are retards. Actually many babies are born with different colour hair and eyes and gradually change to look like their parents. I know some white babies born with blue eyes and blond hair even though their parents did not look like that. Some asians are born with brown hair too, then gradually changes to black. You guys shouldn't really get mad at normal things like these.

I have to agree with some of the comments about kids out of wedlock, and it's not a religious thing. I don't care if it's a gay marriage, it still makes a difference to the kids. BUT- that has nothing to do with this. Whatsoever. AND- It's not about genetics. The problem is that the guy thinks she is cheating on him because of hair color... Which is either stupid or ignorant. Something alot of non-Caucasians are not aware of is that caucasian hair color changes in the early years. That is something they taught in beauty school, whether it's blonde turning to black, black to blond, or red turning darker (it's also the only hair that changes color when it gets wet). It's not an absolute, but it's very common. Perhaps the father is a different race and was simply unaware? Or he's just a paranoid mofo who should have his nads kicked so hard he can't reproduce again.

That sucks. I was blond for about six or seven years before turning dark-headed. Your boyfriend doesn't know shit about genetics or how alleles work.... ....And, you know, it really wouldn't have taken too much research for him to find out....Just type it into Google, really. I hate to say it, but it seems like your boyfriend was just looking for any excuse to get out of the relationship and fatherhood. Good riddance to him, then. YDI for having the kid out of wedlock. You've just shown why. Boyfriends have no real reason to stay around. There is no commitment. Also you both are morons for not knowing how genetics work. I have red hair, yet nobody on my father's side has red hair. Does that mean my mom cheated? No. It is a recessive trait and could have gone for generations without popping up. Plus i have quite a few other genetic traits that are in common with my dad. (also having a twin sister who takes after my dad's family helps).
