Today, while driving home with my boyfriend, we started discussing how clean our driving records were. I was boasting about how I'd never been in an accident when I hit a moose. FML

Actually, its very common in places where there are moose. I grew up in Alaska, in the winter I see multiple moose on a daily basis. Moose are very dumb animals...they run towards cars when scared, not away. Also if it was dark out it can be difficult to see moose because they are dark colored. hopefully the OP wasn't going too fast and her and her boyfriend are okay. Unfortunate for the moose, it's likely that the impact from a car going anything over 15-20mph probably broke it's legs...in which case the humane thing to do is put the poor thing out of it's misery. I hope the MA officials are trained on situations like this.
