Seasonal employees at some companies also have to re-apply... I work at a movie theater during my summer and winter breaks only, and I have had to re-apply twice before because the system automatically boots employees after three months without working.

this happened at my friends company they are closing her branch so she has to reapply for the same job she already has to stay at the company. i think thats what the OP meant but it was just poorly worded
