Panic!

Today, I was at the doctor and I had to get a fingerstick in the lab to get blood drawn. There was a 6 year-old boy waiting to go next. He was terrified. His mother told him to, "Watch this brave girl go first." I panicked and began to hyperventilate. The kid fainted. FML

#20 I totally agree. I'm diabetic and have been for 14 years, those little disposal ones they use at the doctor's office DO hurt alot more than they should. And then, most of the people who work labs are rough and sit there and try to squeeze your finger off...

LOL ahaah well passing out's not so bad. takes away the fear coz ur essentially asleep. :P

#48, I agree with you on all points. As for the last, sometimes doctors don't do the fingerprick in the room, they take you to another larger room where all the other kids are to do things that the nurses usually do. Earwashes, shots, stuff like that. That's probably why they were in the same room. Don't worry OP, stuff like that seriously psychs me out too. There's no reason for it, and I know it doesn't hurt much but... I just don't like the idea of knowingly getting myself hurt in any way if I can help it.

#69 is inconsiderate. The first time I had blood drawn I fainted. It's the mothers fault for not knowing how you'd react.
