It seemed to work in The Giver. No, but that's truly horrible, which is why it reminds me of my own mother. Do you have any close friends or other family members that you can stay with? I hope she turns her bitch-mode off and acts compassionate like a parent should be.

Having had 19 surgeries myself i feel for you OP. At least I always had my grandmother to care for me, even if some family members were less sympathetic. Do you have a friend you could stay with?
