I don't get it. I find talking to girls the easiest thing in the world. I'm gonna get shit for this but, it's simple because there are real simple points of interest that work across the board. You've seen it in movies, it's just like that. Just don't say a word about yourself, keep the conversation on them. Done and done. Rinse and repeat. Once comfortable, have the conversation with the girl you REALLY want. You know the one. Not that hard. I can talk to girl I've never met a lot easier than a guy.

That happened to me when I was young, with a girl who was convinced I was her boyfriend, and it was a long conversation. I always hated the fact that my parents came home and I had to hang up on her.

This made me so sad ): We girls are people too, all you have to do is walk up to one and start talking.

wow.... i actually just felt like someone kicked me in the gut reading that, and i'm pretty sure that hasn't happened yet while reading this site, and i've been here for a few months. You seem like a nice guy. lose some weight if you need to, go to the gym a bit more, and join social activities involving other live people (i.e. not computer games) like sports or something. And do what #83 says - it's actually really easy to have a conversation with a girl, just keep asking them questions about themselves, and learn a few interesting things about everything, and a lot of interesting things about whatever interests her. Actually, I have two concrete bits of advice: join a church group, and join martial arts. A church group will probably help in tons of ways, including helping you find good, kind people who are interested in helping each other - and you'll probably get more out of it than you bargained for. And martial arts will get you in shape if you're not, build confidence, and it has an excellent girl-guy ratio - tons of girls join and any guy who's good at it gets at least 3-4 girls crushing on him. I'm not even kidding. Do yourself a favor - girls need nice guys like you out and about. Best of luck kiddo
