I've always felt that anniversaries are a celebration of that event, just like birthdays. Why make a fuss out of birthdays? They're not special. We were all born... We do it because it was a significant event in our lives that we like to commemorate in a special way. On birthdays, parents think back to the day they received their squalling bundle of joy and on, say, wedding anniversaries, we remember the day we married the person we loved. It's not that we feel the need to only show our love to that person that day. It's that we are marking the significance of the memory. Terrible explanation. I know. I tried.
