Running

Today, I completed my 6-month training program for a track competition this weekend. I went to the park to run anyways because I needed some air after my boyfriend broke up with me. After one lap, my neighbor's 130 lb dog ran across the soccer field and jumped on me to say hi. My leg is broken. FML

I train as well like you do, I run a lot, I recently cracked 2 ribs a day before a karate belt grading, I had to go through it anyway since I paid and it was just pure agony. Obviously this is nothing compared to your FML. The first FML to actually make me say "shit" out loud when reading the last line, ever, I really feel bad for you. Good luck. I won't even bother with #1's comment about suing her neighbour. No need for the shitstorm that was started last time.

seems like that dog was really happy to see you ...

# 22 stop stereotyping please... I do not agree with any of these buffoons saying sue the dog owner, for the reasons you stated and b/c I love dogs, and I am American. OP, ouch....shet happens lol. While it does suck not to be able to compete, maybe this was just meant to be. Anyways, good luck recovering!! ^_^

Shoot the dog. JUST KIDDING. That really does suck, though. Maybe you can make the dog owner make it up to you with lots and lots of favors and pay for all those medical bills. Ask first, sue later...

#6, did you graduate from elementary school or are you still stuck in the delusions of childhood? 'Cos that crock you're spewing definitely sounds like ignorance due to age (mental age, of course) or a lame attempt at a joke. Dear god I hope you weren't serious. #9... What part of "broken leg" don't you understand? Ya can't /run/ on a /BROKEN LEG/, wtf?

so I played over half my 6th grade football season with a broken leg u r pussys

Either 6th grade football has become touch football or you're just trying to impress strangers bout something that could not happen physically. Or let me guess, no one tackled you cuz they felt sorry for you? Seriously, learn to post something that might be believed by someone, not straight up crap.

I second #25, I actually had to re-read #9 because it baffled me how stupid it was. #6 was just retarded. Get well soon OP. Hopefully you're young and can bounce back relatively quickly (broken leg considered :[ )

Damn, that really sucked, one of the "best" FML. I felt bad for you, hope you recover soon.

@25, #6 -who is greenman- always posts comments that make people say, 'GAWD i hope you were kidding' greenman is just a very sarcastic person. and yes he is kidding -i think. and the people saying sue the dog owner... didn't the OP say the dog was just coming over to say hi? accidents happen. sueing isn't the answer to everything.

Dear god, I hope none of you saying "sue the neighbor" ever have children. While a dog should be trained not to jump, especially when it's so big, that's not something you should sue over. The dog didn't maul her, or try to rip a chunk out of her leg. It was saying hello. Taking her frustration out on her neighbors will only add stress to her situation, with lawyers and extra money and stuff, not to mention the strain of ruining a relationship with people that live right by you. God, people, think. It's because of sue-happy idiots like you that coffee cups are required to say "Warning - contents are hot!" OP: That suuuucks. Hopefully there will be other meets, but that's awful that you broke your leg. And about the boyfriend too.

#22, first, stop generalizing. Second, he has every right to sue. A person who decides they want to own a pet is responsible for their pet's actions. If the owner accidentally ran over the OP's leg with his car (rather than the dog doing the damage) it would be no different. Do you think if the neighbor had ran over the OP's leg that he should not be sued? That's pretty absurd. The dog's behavior rests solely on the owner. That's what comes with owning a dog or any animal for that matter. It would be nice if the owner was kind enough to pay the doctor bills and any losses from your training or whatnot, but we don't live in a perfect world, and people don't always offer to do that, which is why lawsuits become necessary. If a person isn't nice enough to compensate for something that's their fault, then the will be forced to.

#6 - Of course the lady would be witch, a 130 lb. cat that could break your leg would be f-ing huge! haha.
