Shy bowels

Today, I still have my ridiculous fear of being heard on the toilet, and I can't go if people are around. I'd just sat down on the toilet when three of my housemates started chatting immediately outside the door. I had to sit silently until they were gone. For half an hour. FML

I have the exact same fear. if someone entered the bathroom while I'm peeing, I would literally hold my pee in until they get out. no matter how long they take...

Feed your toilet, OP. Feed it.

I don't think anyone in particular likes ripping a grumpy in ear shot, except for those guys you meet who are proud of their *****...

I have that fear too, OP. Don't feel bad. This sad part about me is that I'm also scared of traveling to the bathroom alone, so I have to have a friend with me, and I have to turn the sinks on. It's a hard-knock life.

i can't start peeing when other people are close either... it just won't come out if i know they're there. It's a really stupid feeling for me.

If you're at home try running the faucet when people are nearby to muffle the sound. My parents have an awkward powder room that's right off the kitchen and we find that helps.

Maybe you could turn on the shower? then go to the bathroom?

It's an irrational fear, but then again, so is the fear of feet, yet a lot of people have that; So I can't say I understand, but I will admit that it's quite unfortunate to have to endure the daily struggle of not being able to go to the restroom peacefully.

I have the same problem, OP. I agree with running the sink or playing loud music! Also, for a laugh... Let it go, let it go, can't hold it back anymore! ;)

Not really, lots of people have this issue.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. Literally, get your shit under control.
