Today, I had to kick my own father out of my house after he started attacking my wife for breastfeeding our newborn son in the living room. All the way to the door, he ranted that, "You don't see me whipping my dick out and pissing in front of everyone, do you?" FML

15 it was their house and you're kidding right? Ask her to go to the bathroom, where she poops and pees? Are you going to eat in there because I wouldn't dare nor would I force a child to. Her bedroom is also not a fair place. Breastfeeding is natural and shouldn't be so taboo because people like you and OP's dad can't handle a titty with a baby nursing.

Maybe the dad just didn't want to see his daughter in laws titt. If she didn't cover than it is a bit inappropriate. If she did there should not have been an issue. I mean seriously it's great to breastfeed, but popping it out wherever you please can be disrespectful if not done the right way.

even covered, my grandfather freaked out on me. some people don't care. they see it as completely inappropriate when anyone is around at all, which is ridiculous.

I feed my daughter without a cover. I used to cover but covering with a blanket/drape draws more attention than when I don't use it. Nothing is ever visible. An infant being hungry trumps a prudes discomfort.

By attacking I assume you mean verbally? If so you shouldn't breast feed in the living room with company over. Go to your bedroom or a private area. If he physically did then he needs to be in jail right now.

If you have company over you can damn well go to elsewhere. I have friends over and my wife suddenly start breast feeding I totally wouldn't be shocked if they got angry. It's my house can I start masturbating in the living room when my in-laws are over for a visit?
